Vesa Marttinen has been leading and supporting businesses past 20 years.
His strong social, energetic and visionary characteristics and coaching approach has secured operations and lead teams to developed new innovations and business models. His passion is maritime, and the focus is on value creation and value capture by parties in global network. He has strong track record of this, from publicly listed global corporations, privately held medium size companies and as entrepreneur. These opportunities have taken him to work with different people and cultures around northern hemisphere.
While finalizing his master’s degree in 1997 on Naval Architecture and Industrial Management he joined Silja Line in Finland. There he found himself in capital projects, sale & purchase of ships and ship management.
After experiencing Scandinavian work culture, he moved Florida to manage Deltamarin engineering consulting to major cruise lines.
In 2005 he joined Aker and the Executive Marine Consulting Inc. he had previously founded, became US subsidiary for Aker Yards Lifecycle Services. For leading this globally operated consulting engineering, conversion and operation support business he moved back to Finland. Later he joined Wärtsilä to first manage Environmental Services and then served as senior leader of Marine Lifecycle Solutions.
Vesa Marttinen has focused on change management and project leadership from 2013. First assignment was Managing Director position of Turku Repair Yard and later the CEO role of Normek Group. Lately he has been senior adviser to Eniram cruise business in Florida and then project director for NIT projects in Japan and Norway.
Vesa Marttinen has also experience from boards of Finnish Marine Industries, SeaEurope, BestServ, SRC Group, Eniram, Gadlab Engineering, EEX Maritime and from several advisory committees.
